Come to the Saturday afternoon class to explore art making in a relaxed setting. There is no expected outcome and you can see where the art making leads you. Art supplies are provided, and also feel free to bring your own favourite materials.
We begin with a warm-up exercise and choose a theme for the session. Some participants prefer to work unguided and follow their own creative path. We create for 40 minutes, then break for refreshments where a discussion can take place about what has been created (staying quiet is also ok). We come back to another making session, perhaps responding to what was made earlier on.
Intuitive art making is a great way to relax and unwind. Here is what participants are saying:
I enjoyed feeling like I could do anything with the materials – having no set plan or idea – just doodling for the sake of it with no expectations.
Its great to be free and creative. I enjoyed the company and working alongside other people.
Intuitive Art Classes run on Fridays and Saturdays 1pm – 2.30pm, £20
No prior experience of art making is necessary. I can provide as much guidance as you require.
Art materials & refreshments are provided.

Good to know:
All art work is to be taken away at the end of each session so please bring a folder, box or a drawing tube (these are available to buy from the studio).
All workshops are LGBTQ positive spaces which welcome people from all backgrounds. We invite participants to reflect this in their choice of language at the sessions. Discriminatory culture will be challenged. Please see our policies for more information.
If you would like to attend with a group of friends then please book ahead to ensure all members of your group will have a place.
A gentle reminder
Art making can be a powerful experience which offers a space for quiet reflection and sometimes meaningful insights can occur. It is always sensible to practice self-care and to progress at your own pace when you encounter thoughts and feelings which can be evoked during art making.
By taking part in the sessions you acknowledge responsibility for your emotional health and safety. This workshop supports good mental health and relaxation, but it is not therapy. If you would like to explore any issues in therapy, The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) can provide more information.
